The V70 Series is a short-depth rackmount UPS for shallow racks, wall-mount enclosures, and space-constrained IT environments where traditional rack UPS systems don’t fit. It delivers cost-effective line-interactive power protection with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) in a compact, TAA-compliant form factor — compliance with the Trade Agreements Act is uncommon in this short-depth, value class — built for regulated distributed IT, AV, security, retail POS, and edge deployments.

Dependable, cost-effective protection in a shallow chassis
Line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation corrects under- and over-voltage conditions without unnecessary battery use (five of the ten common power problems), extending battery life and maintaining uptime. With a short-depth chassis, included mounting hardware, and optional remote monitoring, the V70 simplifies deployment in IDF closets, AV cabinets, retail enclosures, kiosks, and security head-ends — without the depth and complexity of legacy rack UPS systems.

V70 short-depth UPS — frequently asked questions
What makes the V70 short-depth, and why does that matter?
Chassis depth of 9 to 10.5 inches, against roughly 15 to 24 inches for a conventional rack UPS. That is what lets it fit a shallow wall-mount rack, an AV cabinet, or a network closet enclosure where a standard-depth unit physically will not go. Depth, not capacity, is usually the constraint in those locations.
Is the V70 1U or 2U?
Both, depending on model. The V70-700 is a 1U chassis at 9.2 inches deep. The V70-1000 and V70-1500 are 2U, at 9 and 10.5 inches deep respectively. Confirm the depth against your enclosure before ordering, since the 2U models differ from each other.
Does the V70 produce a pure sine wave output?
No, it produces a simulated sine wave, which suits everyday IT and network loads. If the load has an active power factor corrected supply, or is an instrument or AV component that is sensitive to waveform shape, specify the P80 for pure sine wave output instead.
What is the difference between the V70 and the P80?
Waveform and capacity. The V70 is simulated sine wave up to 1440 VA in a short-depth chassis. The P80 is pure sine wave, spans 800 to 3000 VA, converts between rack and tower, and supports external battery packs for extended runtime. Choose the V70 when depth is the constraint; choose the P80 when waveform quality or runtime is.
Does the V70 replace the V80?
Yes. The V70 supersedes the V80, which is discontinued. If you are supporting an installed base of V80 units, the V70 is the current equivalent.
How much runtime does the V70 provide?
See the runtime table above for estimated minutes by load. The V70 carries internal batteries only, with no external pack option, so runtime is fixed by model. If you need to extend runtime, the P80 supports external battery packs.
Is the V70 TAA compliant?
Yes. The V70 is compliant with the Trade Agreements Act, alongside cTUVus (UL 1778), RoHS, FCC Class B and DOE certification. TAA compliance is uncommon in the short-depth value class, where most of the field is not eligible for federal or institutional procurement at all. If a shallow rack has to be filled on a government or education contract, that combination narrows the options considerably.
Is the V70 DOE certified, and how efficient is it?
Yes. All three models are certified to the U.S. Department of Energy efficiency standard for UPS (10 CFR Part 430), required for UPS sold in the U.S. with a NEMA 5-15P plug. Tested to the DOE procedure, the average load-adjusted efficiency is 98.9% for the V70-700, 98.7% for the V70-1000 and 99.0% for the V70-1500, each above its DOE minimum, with up to 99.1% at full load and 2.8 to 4.4 W at no load.
