1000–3000 VA | 120V | Online Double Conversion
Long-runtime tower UPS engineered for commercial, retail, healthcare, and distributed infrastructure requiring multi-hour backup power and continuous conditioned output.
1000–3000 VA · 120 VAC · Online Double-Conversion Tower UPS · Long Runtime
The T91 is a 120 V online double-conversion tower UPS — 700–3000 VA — built for applications where extended runtime is the primary requirement — beyond the limits of compact rack UPS. External battery expansion and a high-capacity programmable charger support runtime from short ride-through to multi-hour continuity, while online topology delivers continuous conditioned power with zero transfer time. For 208–240 V, see the T91i.
The T91 is designed for environments where outages extend beyond typical UPS runtime expectations. Unlike rack UPS optimized for short-duration protection, the T91 uses external battery systems and programmable charging to support multi-hour runtime — keeping infrastructure operational during extended outages or until backup generation is available. Online double-conversion topology ensures continuous conditioned power, isolating connected equipment from voltage fluctuations and electrical disturbances.
Zero transfer time and continuous conditioning, isolating equipment from voltage fluctuations and electrical disturbances.
External battery systems scale runtime from minutes to multiple hours, sized to load and continuity requirements.
High usable real power — 700 W at 700 VA and 1000 W at 1000 VA (unity), up to 2880 W at 3000 VA — without oversizing.
A high-capacity selectable charger supports larger battery banks and reduces recharge time after extended outages.
A tower chassis supports larger battery systems for equipment-adjacent and floor-mounted installations.
Optional SNMP / web network management enables remote monitoring across distributed sites.
The T91 operates as the long-runtime tower UPS platform within distributed infrastructure — typically deployed in floor-mounted or equipment-adjacent installations, in retail, hospitality, and medical environments, and wherever runtime requirements exceed rack UPS capabilities.
Choose the T91 for long-runtime online protection in a tower — where extended battery strings and multi-hour runtime matter more than rack density; choose the P91 for the same online protection in a rack chassis, or the T91i for 208–240 V deployments.
Rack UPS systems are typically optimized for density and short-duration runtime. The T91 is designed for applications where runtime is the primary requirement — its tower form factor supports larger battery systems and higher charging capacity, enabling significantly longer backup durations. For rack-based runtime, the P91 provides scalable runtime in a rack chassis.
For installations requiring 208–240 V output, the T91i provides the same long-runtime online tower architecture at higher voltage.
The T91 is commonly deployed as a replacement for tower-based and extended-runtime UPS platforms — APC Smart-UPS SRT tower configurations with external packs, Eaton 9PX / 9SX extended-runtime systems, and Vertiv Liebert GXT tower deployments — providing a simplified long-runtime architecture with programmable charging and scalable battery expansion for consistent deployment across sites.
The 9SX is the long-runtime online tower the T91 most directly replaces. Here they are at 1.5 kVA, from the per-model comparison; the 700–3000 VA matchups follow the same pattern, with full breakdowns in the comparison hub.
| Feature (1.5 kVA) | Xtreme T91-1500 | Eaton 9SX1500 |
|---|---|---|
| Real power | 1450 W | 1350 W |
| Charger | Selectable 2–8 A | Fixed about 1.4 A |
| Battery expansion | Up to 7 packs (about 133 min) | Up to 4 packs (about 105 min) |
| Weight | 34.3 lb | 41.9 lb |
| TAA compliant | Yes | No |
The T91-1500 leads on usable watts, a far faster selectable charger, deeper runtime expansion (7 packs vs 4), lighter weight, and standard TAA compliance; warranty is matched at 3 years. The T91 is also cross-shopped against APC Smart-UPS SRT and Vertiv GXT tower configurations. All T91 comparisons →

Models 700–1500 share a compact 5.6 in-wide tower; 2000–3000 use a 7.4 in-wide chassis. Input cords: 5-15P (700/1000), 5-20P or L5-20P (2000 V2), L5-30P (3000). The T91-700 uses internal batteries only; all larger models scale to seven external packs. Detailed weights, runtime tables, and recharge times are published in the T91 datasheet.
Internal batteries provide ride-through; matching external battery packs scale runtime into multiple hours. Each model shows runtime in minutes at 100% and 50% load, from internal-only out to seven packs.
