What makes the J90i the premium 1U lithium rack UPS
The J90i continuously regenerates output power through the inverter — the connected load never operates on raw utility power. No transfer delay during a power event. Output power is clean, regulated, and isolated from upstream disturbances regardless of input conditions.
LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are rated for 3,000–5,000 discharge cycles and up to 15 years service life in ideal conditions. Across distributed deployments with 20 or 50 UPS units, eliminating the 3–5 year VRLA replacement cycle is a significant operational and cost advantage.
IDF closets, telecom rooms, and industrial enclosures regularly exceed 35–40°C. VRLA batteries specified at 25°C degrade rapidly above 30°C. Remote On/Off and Remote Power Off contacts start and shut down the UPS from a dry contact, independent of the network card. That covers emergency power-off interlocks and building-system sequencing, and it works whether or not an SNMP card is fitted.

What is the difference between the J90i and the J90?
Input voltage. The J90 is the 120 V platform; the J90i is the 208-240 V equivalent for racks and regions fed at higher voltage. Same 1U form factor, same LiFePO4 chemistry, same online double-conversion topology and per-outlet control. Choose on the supply at the rack, not on features.
Why does 50 degrees C matter if my rack is air conditioned?
Because most of them are not. IDF closets, telecom rooms and industrial enclosures regularly sit at 35-40 C, and VRLA batteries specified at 25 C degrade rapidly above 30 C. The J90i’s LiFePO4 chemistry and thermal design are rated to 50 C, which covers the real range of rack environments rather than the ideal one. On a distributed estate this is usually what decides battery service life.
How long do the batteries actually last?
