Compact UPS for Parking Gates, Ticketing & Pay Stations
If you build the gates, ticket dispensers, pay stations, kiosks, and LPR housings that run the parking industry, the UPS you specify has to disappear into your enclosure, survive the field, and never become a warranty problem. Xtreme’s J60, J60C, and J90 families are engineered for exactly that — small enough to design in, rated for hot outdoor cabinets, and built on long-life lithium so the units you ship keep working for years.
Three reasons OEMs design Xtreme in: small dimensions that fit pedestals and shallow cabinets, long lithium battery life that cuts field failures and RMAs, and wide temperature tolerance for sun-loaded outdoor housings.
Selected on the specs that matter to a manufacturer
An embedded UPS isn’t bought on runtime alone — it’s bought on whether it fits, certifies, and stays out of your service queue.
Small footprints drop into gate pedestals and behind panels; the short-depth J60C is just 8.5″ deep in a 1U chassis for shallow NEMA and wall-mount cabinets.
Long-life LiFePO₄ (up to 15 years) plus a 5-year battery warranty and dual-redundant BMS on 600 VA models means fewer swaps and RMAs on units already shipped.
Operates continuously to 50 °C and runs at up to 98% efficiency, so it adds little heat to a sealed housing where lead-acid would cook and fail early.
UL-1778 / cTUVus / FCC on 120V and CE on 230V — and both are TAA compliant for federal, airport, and municipal parking work.
Optional Web/SNMP (600 VA) reports status and alarms and supports remote shutdown/startup and output reboot — fewer truck rolls on remote sites.
From 350 VA gate controllers to multi-kVA pay-station racks, one supplier across every product tier.
Three families, one parking-equipment toolkit
The smallest option — fits inside gate pedestals and behind kiosk panels for controllers, loop detectors, and small PCs.
J60 — World’s Smallest UPS →
Short-depth 1U rack — just 8.5″ deep — for shallow outdoor cabinets and wall-mount racks, with a standard front-panel LCD. Ideal for LPR/NVR and higher-draw kiosks.
Short-Depth Rackmount UPS →
Steps up to true online double-conversion for larger pay-station PCs and lane controllers. Every outlet is individually switchable for remote per-outlet reboot — no separate PDU required.

A starting point for design-in. Final selection should be modeled on your exact device load and target hold-up time.
| Parking equipment | Typical load | Best-fit UPS | Design note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gate operator controller + loop detector | 20–60 W | J60-350VA / J60i-350VA | Ultra-compact; fits inside the pedestal and rides through brownouts to avoid false opens. |
| Ticket / pay kiosk PC + peripherals | 60–180 W | J60-600VA / J60i-600VA | Step up to J60C/J60Ci-600 short-depth rack for higher draw or longer hold-up. |
| LPR / ALPR / ANPR camera + edge NVR | 40–120 W | J60C-600 / J60Ci-600 | Short-depth rack for outdoor cabinets; optional Web/SNMP for remote status. |
| Pay-station PoE switch | 30–100 W | J60-600VA / J60i-600VA | Add SPDU for per-outlet remote reboot of downstream devices. |
| Centralized lane controller / larger pay-station PC | 360 W+ | J90 / J90i 1U lithium | When the load or runtime exceeds the J60-600’s 360 W / 600 VA ceiling. |
Runtime examples: J60-600 ≈ 23 min @120 W, 14 min @200 W · J60-350 ≈ 32 min @40 W, 17 min @80 W. See the Watts→Minutes runtime chart on the J60 page for full curves.
Built to live in an outdoor cabinet
- Brownout protection for gate logic and kiosk PCs — avoids false opens and failed transactions during sags, not just full outages.
- Outdoor-cabinet friendly: short-depth J60C/J60Ci (8.5″ deep, 1U) fit shallow NEMA enclosures and wall-mount racks; J60/J60i tuck inside pedestals.
- Flexible mounting: J60 ships with standard brackets for wall, under-counter, or in-enclosure mounting, with an optional DIN-rail kit for control panels.
- Remote monitoring: optional Web/SNMP on J60-600 and J60C-600 for alarms, status, and remote shutdown/startup.
- Per-outlet control: the J90’s outlets are individually switchable for native remote reboot; for J60-class units, pair with an SPDU for web-managed per-outlet on/off of downstream devices.
Operating note: the J60 family runs continuously to 50 °C (122 °F). The standard 5-year battery warranty applies to installations up to 40 °C; a 2-year battery warranty applies from 40–50 °C (USA & Canada).
