DIN Rail and Panel Mount Lithium UPS
The J60 is 1.25 inches thick and weighs 3.4 pounds — thin enough and light enough to mount on a standard 35mm DIN rail inside a control panel alongside PLCs, I/O modules, and automation components. LiFePO₄ battery, 50°C operation, up to 15-year service life, completely fanless.
Purpose-built for industrial panel and cabinet installation
Conventional UPS systems don’t fit in control panels. The J60 was designed from the ground up for embedded industrial installation — the form factor, the battery chemistry, the thermal design, and the mounting options are all specific to this application.
At 1.25 inches thick and 3.4 lbs, the J60 occupies minimal space on a DIN rail or panel surface. Standard 35mm DIN rail mounting with the optional J60-DIN kit — the same rail your PLCs, terminals, and I/O modules use.
LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are rated for 3,000–5,000 discharge cycles and up to 15 years service life in ideal conditions. Battery replacement inside a running control panel is eliminated for the life of the installation.
Industrial enclosures and electrical rooms frequently exceed 35–40°C. The J60 operates reliably to 50°C with capacity derating above 40°C. Lead acid batteries in the same environment would see accelerated aging and significantly shortened service life.
No fan means no airflow path for dust, metal particles, or contaminants into the UPS. The J60’s passive cooling design requires no filter maintenance and eliminates fan failure as a failure mode — critical in dusty factory and fabrication environments.
The J60 automatically powers back on when utility power is restored — no manual intervention required. Control panels running unattended in remote or unmanned locations maintain continuous protection without operator action after a power event.
High conversion efficiency reduces heat generation inside the enclosure — important in thermally constrained control panels where every watt of waste heat must be managed. Lower heat output also contributes to longer component service life in sealed enclosures.
J60 model lineup — 120V and 230V
Four models cover 120V and 230V at 350VA and 600VA. The 600VA models (J60-600 and J60i-600) add optional SNMP/Web monitoring and remote reboot capability via the SNMP-J60 card.

DIN rail and panel mount installation
Three mounting options cover every industrial installation scenario. The DIN rail kit is the most common for new panel builds; wall and flat mount suit retrofit installations and space-constrained enclosures.
-
01
DIN rail mount — uses the optional J60-DIN Mounting Kit. Clips directly onto standard 35mm DIN rails alongside PLCs, terminal blocks, I/O modules, and other rail-mounted components. No panel cutout or additional hardware required beyond the kit.
-
02
Wall mount — mounts flat against any wall or panel surface using the integrated mounting slots. Suitable for installations inside enclosures where DIN rail space is unavailable or for standalone wall mounting outside a cabinet.
-
03
Flat surface — sits horizontally on any flat surface inside or alongside equipment. Useful for temporary installations, OEM integration, or applications where fixed mounting isn’t required.
DIN rail mounting kit (J60-DIN) is sold separately. Confirm kit availability with the product page or contact Xtreme Power for OEM orders.
Runtime by load — J60-600 / J60i-600 (360W max)
Runtime depends on actual load — PLC and automation loads are typically well below nameplate maximum, which means real-world runtime is often significantly longer than the minimum. A 50W PLC load on a 600VA J60 delivers well over an hour of runtime.
| Load | Approximate runtime | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| 360W (full load) | ~6 minutes | Maximum rated load |
| 200W | ~15–20 minutes | Mid-size PLC with I/O and HMI |
| 100W | ~35–45 minutes | Small PLC or industrial PC |
| 50W | ~60–90 minutes | Compact PLC, gateway, or sensor controller |
| 25W or less | 2+ hours | IoT device, remote monitoring node |

Optional SNMP and web monitoring
The optional Web/SNMP Card (SNMP-J60) adds full remote management to the J60-600 and J60i-600 — the 350VA models do not support this option. When installed, it enables:
- Real-time voltage, load, and battery health monitoring
- Remote output power control and device reboot
- Alarm notifications and event logging
- SNMP integration with network management systems
- Web-based management interface
- Optional EMD-J60 environmental sensor for temperature and humidity monitoring
Ideal for industrial panel and cabinet environments
Keeps PLCs, I/O modules, relays, and control system components running during brief power disturbances. A 10-second power interruption that causes a PLC to reboot can require minutes of manual recovery in a production environment.
Panel PCs, touchscreen HMIs, and operator terminals — often installed in the same control cabinet as the PLC — need the same power protection. The J60’s thin profile leaves room for the equipment it protects.
Industrial PCs, embedded computing platforms, and data acquisition systems benefit from the J60’s ability to provide clean power and bridge brief outages without corrupting running processes or logged data.
Remote monitoring nodes, IoT gateways, and field communication devices often operate in enclosures far from grid-quality power. The J60’s light load runtime of 2+ hours and automatic restart make it well-suited for unattended field installations.
Machine builders and OEM equipment manufacturers integrate the J60 into standard control cabinet builds — the DIN rail mounting standardizes installation, and the 15-year battery life means the UPS outlasts typical machine service intervals.
Compact edge computing devices — industrial PCs, protocol converters, communication gateways — often live in the same enclosure as the equipment they serve. The J60’s small footprint and long battery life suit these co-located deployments.
Certifications
5-year warranty covering electronics and battery — USA and Canada. Warranty is reduced to 2 years for installations where ambient temperature continuously exceeds 40°C and is below 50°C. The J60 is not rated for ambient temperatures above 50°C.
Common questions about the J60 DIN rail UPS
The J60 is built specifically for embedded industrial installation — 1.25″ thick, 3.4 lbs, DIN rail compatible, fanless, and rated to 50°C. Most compact UPS systems are scaled-down versions of standard rack or tower designs. The J60 is designed from the start for control panel and DIN rail mounting, with LiFePO₄ chemistry that eliminates battery replacement for the life of the installation.
Yes. The optional J60-DIN Mounting Kit enables secure installation on standard 35mm DIN rails. The kit is sold separately and allows the J60 to mount alongside PLCs, terminal blocks, and I/O modules on the same rail. Wall and flat mount are also supported without the kit.
Runtime ranges from approximately 6 minutes at full load (360W for the 600VA model) to over 2 hours at light loads (25W or less). Most PLC and industrial automation loads are well below the nameplate maximum — a typical PLC with I/O and HMI at 100W will run 35–45 minutes. Use the UPS sizing tool for your specific load.
LiFePO₄ batteries in the J60 are rated for 3,000–5,000 discharge cycles and up to 15 years service life in ideal operating conditions. The 5-year warranty covers standard use at or below 40°C ambient. Above 40°C continuous, a 2-year warranty applies. Compare this to VRLA lead acid which requires replacement every 3–5 years in the same conditions.
Yes. The J60 (120V) is UL-1778 certified, RoHS compliant, and TAA compliant for government and industrial procurement. The J60i (230V) carries CE and RoHS certifications. TAA compliance supports federal, VA, state, and municipal procurement without a waiver.
Yes — on the 600VA models only (J60-600 and J60i-600). The optional SNMP-J60 Web/SNMP Card adds full remote monitoring and management including power metrics, alarm notifications, remote output power control, and device reboot capability. The 350VA models (J60-350 and J60i-350) do not support the SNMP card.
Yes. The J60i-350 (350VA) and J60i-600 (600VA) are designed for 230V AC systems — international manufacturing, European facilities, and 230V industrial installations. All four models use the same DIN rail mounting kit and share the same form factor and battery chemistry.
