What makes the J90 the premium 1U lithium rack UPS
Online double-conversion — zero transfer time
The J90 continuously regenerates output power through the inverter — the connected load never operates on raw utility power. No transfer delay during a power event. Output power is clean, regulated, and isolated from upstream disturbances regardless of input conditions.
LiFePO₄ — up to 15 years, no routine replacement
LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are rated for 3,000–5,000 discharge cycles and up to 15 years service life in ideal conditions. Across distributed deployments with 20 or 50 UPS units, eliminating the 3–5 year VRLA replacement cycle is a significant operational and cost advantage.
50°C operation — no cooling dependency
IDF closets, telecom rooms, and industrial enclosures regularly exceed 35–40°C. VRLA batteries specified at 25°C degrade rapidly above 30°C. The J90 delivers full rated output to 50°C with no capacity derating — a 3kVA unit is still a 3kVA unit at 122°F. Most competing platforms derate above 40°C, which means sizing for the room rather than the load. Warranty terms differ for continuous operation above 40°C.
Individual outlet switching — remote reboot without a truck roll
Each outlet is individually switchable — a frozen switch, a hung firewall, a crashed controller can be power-cycled remotely without dispatching a technician. Across a campus with 20 IDF locations, that capability pays for itself after the first avoided service call.
Up to 6 × EBP48 external packs — 2kVA and 3kVA models
The J90-2kLiD and J90-3kLiD support up to six EBP48 external LiFePO₄ battery packs for extended runtime — without the size and weight of VRLA battery cabinets. The J90-1.5kLiX will add the same capability at 1.5 kVA; it is not yet available. See the full runtime table below for exact values by load and pack count.
1U rack — also wall-mount with included brackets
The J90 occupies 1U in a standard rack and mounts on any wall with the included bracket hardware. In IDF closets with wall-mount racks, the J90 installs clean without adapters or additional hardware — same unit, same bracket, either deployment.
ROO / RPO — remote on and off
Remote On/Off and Remote Power Off contacts start and shut down the UPS from a dry contact, independent of the network card. That covers emergency power-off interlocks and building-system sequencing, and it works whether or not an SNMP card is fitted.
$50,000 connected-equipment protection
The J90 carries a $50,000 load protection policy covering equipment connected to the UPS. For an edge or AV rack holding switches, controllers and processors, that is coverage on the load rather than just on the UPS.
Where J90 fits in the Xtreme Power lithium lineup
J90 is the right choice when 1U density, individual outlet control, and lifecycle performance are priorities. When form factor is standard 2U rack/tower and lowest upfront cost matters, consider the P91Li. When depth is the constraint, consider the J60C.

J90-1.5kLiX — extended runtime 1.5kVA with external battery pack support
The J90-1.5kLiX adds EBP48 external battery pack compatibility to the 1.5kVA model — combining the J90’s online double-conversion topology, switchable outlets, LiFePO₄ chemistry, and 50°C operation with the extended runtime flexibility currently available only on the 2kVA and 3kVA models.
