Deliver reliable, scalable power protection with the M90C modular three-phase UPS. Built for critical IT, data center, and industrial environments, it ensures high-efficiency performance, easy expansion, and maximum uptime across 208/120V and 400/230V three-phase applications.
Designed with a unity power factor (kVA = kW) for maximum usable capacity, and featuring hot-swappable modules, flexible runtime options, and integrated maintenance bypass. Frequently used in small edge data rooms and distributed IT environments — see UPS for Edge Data Centers.
kVA = kW — full system utilization, no wasted power.
Each slot accepts a power module or a battery module — a working system always needs at least one power module and one battery module.
Hot-swappable design enables fast, cost-effective maintenance and capacity upgrades.
Engineered for data centers, telecom, edge computing, and industrial applications.
Easily configure redundancy, runtime, and output distribution.
Eligible for US government and public-sector applications.
Lower operating costs and reduced total cost of ownership.
Communication slot for Web/SNMP and Modbus — monitor and manage over the network.
The North American line, in 2-slot M90C-2S and 6-slot M90C-6S enclosures. Both carry an integrated maintenance-bypass switch, battery modules with an integral DC breaker, and optional receptacle panels that remove external distribution gear. The M90C-6S occupies 17.4″W × 33.7″D. Runtime runs from about 12 minutes at full load on the M90C-2S to roughly 5 hours on the M90C-6S with M90S-BC7 or M90-BC battery cabinets.
The 400/230V line, in 2-slot M90Ci-2S and 6-slot M90Ci-6S enclosures, with the same integrated maintenance-bypass switch and the same line-cord and receptacle options. Runtime extends with M90BCi-7 or X90-BC battery cabinets.
Two voltages, two enclosure sizes. Every model uses the same modular approach: capacity is added by installing power modules rather than replacing the system, and modules are hot-swappable.
| Model | Voltage | Capacity | Enclosure | Rack mounting | Approvals |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| M90C-2S | 208/120V | 5 or 8 kW | 2-slot, 6U | Rackmount-ready | UL-1778, cUL, TAA |
| M90C-6S | 208/120V | Up to 24 kW | 6-slot | M90C Rack Mount Kit | UL-1778, cUL, TAA |
| M90Ci-2S | 400/230V | 10 kW | 2-slot, 6U | Rackmount-ready | CE, RoHS, TAA |
| M90Ci-6S | 400/230V | 10 to 60 kW | 6-slot | M90C Rack Mount Kit | CE, RoHS, TAA |
Unity output power factor throughout, so rated kVA equals usable kW and there is no need to oversize to reach a watt figure. The C Series is the North American 208/120V line and is UL listed; the Ci Series is the 400/230V international line, which is TAA compliant but not UL listed.

Start with the service. 208/120V points to the C Series, 400/230V to the Ci Series. There is no configuration that crosses between them.
Then size the frame for growth and redundancy. A 2-slot enclosure holds one power module and one battery module, so it is a fixed-capacity system with no room for a redundant module. A 6-slot enclosure leaves room to add capacity and to run one module more than the load requires. Sizing the frame one module above the load is what makes N+1 possible without buying a second system.
Then decide where it lives. The 2-slot models rack-mount as shipped, which suits distributed sites and network rooms. The 6-slot models need the M90C Rack Mount Kit, or they stand on the floor in an electrical room. Past 60 kW, or where the load has left the rack entirely, the M90U platform takes over at 15 to 140 kW.
M90C-2S systems are available with optional factory-installed line cords and receptacle panels to accelerate deployment, reduce installation cost, and ensure compatibility with standard 208/120V three-phase power:
| Model | Input line cord | Output receptacle panel |
|---|---|---|
| 5 kW | Optional L21-20P | Optional L21-20R |
| 8 kW | Optional L21-30P | Optional L21-30R |

Full modular scalability with hot-swappable modules, so capacity grows and service happens without dropping the load. An integrated maintenance-bypass switch comes standard rather than as a separate cabinet, energy consumption and operating cost stay lower through the load range, and deployment is flexible between rack and floor.
