15–140 kW | 208/120V Three-Phase | Modular Online Double-Conversion UPSS
Enterprise modular UPS platform designed for high-capacity facility power protection, scalable redundancy, and flexible runtime architecture in data center environments.
15–140 kW · 208/120V Three-Phase · Modular Online UPS · Enterprise Scale · Unity PF · N+1
The M90U-140 is an enterprise-scale modular online double-conversion UPS for data center, healthcare, and large infrastructure environments. Built for centralized deployments where capacity, redundancy, and long-term scalability must be achieved within a single modular, serviceable platform — power modules are added as infrastructure grows, and N+1 redundancy is configured without parallel UPS systems. It scales from 15 to 140 kW at unity power factor with up to eight hot-swappable 15 kW or 20 kW power modules.
The M90U-140 protects critical data and equipment while supplying clean, network-grade power. It can be configured with fully redundant power and battery modules; should one module fail, the remaining modules smoothly take over the load. Power modules are independent and hot-swappable without risk to the critical load — so capacity and redundancy both scale over time within a single frame.

The M90U-140 enables large-scale capacity within a single modular system. Redundancy is implemented in an N+1 configuration without requiring parallel UPS systems, and the platform supports long-term expansion while maintaining centralized continuity, modular serviceability, and simplified lifecycle planning. Compared with monolithic multi-cabinet systems at this scale, the modular approach lets both capacity and redundancy scale over time while improving serviceability and reducing system-replacement requirements.
kW equals kVA, so every kVA of the rating is usable real power for high-density loads — no derate for low-PF equipment.
Add 15 kW or 20 kW power modules as capacity and runtime needs grow, without replacing the frame or interrupting the load.
Configure full redundancy within one system — up to 140 kW with N+1 (20 kW modules). If a module fails, the remaining modules carry the load with no transfer off the protected bus.
A segmented static bypass simplifies maintenance and improves fault isolation across the power path.
A front-mounted MBP switch transfers critical loads to utility for service or replacement without dropping the load.
A large graphic front panel surfaces status, metering, and alarms at a glance.
The frame holds up to eight power modules. The 20 kW module line is shown below; a 15 kW module line is also available. Unity power factor means the kVA and kW ratings are equal.
| Model | Capacity | Power modules | Charge current |
|---|---|---|---|
| M90U140-20k | 20 kVA / 20 kW | 1 × 20 kW | 8 A |
| M90U140-40k | 40 kVA / 40 kW | 2 × 20 kW | 16 A |
| M90U140-60k | 60 kVA / 60 kW | 3 × 20 kW | 24 A |
| M90U140-80k | 80 kVA / 80 kW | 4 × 20 kW | 32 A |
| M90U140-100k | 100 kVA / 100 kW | 5 × 20 kW | 40 A |
| M90U140-120k | 120 kVA / 120 kW | 6 × 20 kW | 48 A |
| M90U140-140k | 140 kVA / 140 kW | 7 × 20 kW | 56 A |
The frame accepts up to eight power modules — up to seven active, plus a redundant module for N+1. With 20 kW modules the system reaches 140 kW (7 × 20) or 140 kW with N+1 (the eighth module is the redundant spare); with 15 kW modules it reaches 105 kW (7 × 15) or 105 kW with N+1. Maximum system capacity is 140 kW — the eighth slot adds redundancy, not capacity. Charge current scales with the populated module count (8–56 A).
Runtime is delivered by the matching M90-BC modular battery enclosure — a design many customers choose specifically for its serviceability and compact footprint. Battery is organized as up to eight independent strings, each with its own 100 A breaker, so an individual string can be isolated for service or replacement without taking down the others. Each string is built from four hot-swappable battery modules (up to 32 modules total), and the whole system fits a notably small footprint — an industry-leading footprint that saves up to 40% of floorspace versus comparable platforms, counting batteries and maintenance bypass.

Each of the up to eight battery strings has its own 100 A breaker, so a single string can be isolated for service or replacement while the rest keep protecting the load.
Battery scales as up to eight strings, each built from four battery modules — up to 32 modules — matched to the runtime the application needs.
Battery modules are hot-swappable, reducing service time and expense and keeping maintenance from interrupting the protected load.
An industry-leading footprint — including batteries and maintenance bypass — saves up to 40% of floorspace versus comparable enterprise modular platforms.
Runtime scales with the number of installed battery modules. Typical runtimes (minutes) for the M90-BC enclosure across system load:

M90U-140 is the enterprise-scale platform within the M90U family — for centralized deployments needing capacity and redundancy beyond the high-density M90U-80. The entry M90U covers 15–60 kW, the M90U-80 covers 15–80 kW in a single integrated cabinet, and the M90LU offers an external-battery extended-runtime sibling. For lithium, the Li90 is an integrated lithium facility UPS.
See the external-battery M90LU and the full M90U platform family.
The M90U-140 is commonly deployed to replace large legacy and aging modular platforms — including the APC Symmetra PX, Eaton 93PM, and Vertiv Liebert EXM — in data center modernization and capacity expansion, replacement of aging centralized UPS, infrastructure needing scalable redundancy and runtime flexibility, and consolidation of multiple UPS into one modular platform.
M90U-140 is deployed across enterprise-scale environments — data centers and large electrical rooms, healthcare and campus facilities, telecommunications core infrastructure, and industrial and process systems.
