The M90U-140 is an enterprise-scale modular online double-conversion UPS for data center, healthcare, and large infrastructure environments. Built for centralized deployments where capacity, redundancy, and long-term scalability must be achieved within a single modular, serviceable platform — power modules are added as infrastructure grows, and N+1 redundancy is configured without parallel UPS systems. It scales from 15 to 140 kW at unity power factor with up to eight hot-swappable 15 kW or 20 kW power modules.

Overview

Scalable, modular power for mission-critical availability

The M90U-140 protects critical data and equipment while supplying clean, network-grade power. It can be configured with fully redundant power and battery modules; should one module fail, the remaining modules smoothly take over the load. Power modules are independent and hot-swappable without risk to the critical load — so capacity and redundancy both scale over time within a single frame.

Enterprise modular UPS architecture

The M90U-140 enables large-scale capacity within a single modular system. Redundancy is implemented in an N+1 configuration without requiring parallel UPS systems, and the platform supports long-term expansion while maintaining centralized continuity, modular serviceability, and simplified lifecycle planning. Compared with monolithic multi-cabinet systems at this scale, the modular approach lets both capacity and redundancy scale over time while improving serviceability and reducing system-replacement requirements.

The frame accepts up to eight power modules — up to seven active, plus a redundant module for N+1. With 20 kW modules the system reaches 140 kW (7 × 20) or 140 kW with N+1 (the eighth module is the redundant spare); with 15 kW modules it reaches 105 kW (7 × 15) or 105 kW with N+1. Maximum system capacity is 140 kW — the eighth slot adds redundancy, not capacity. Charge current scales with the populated module count (8–56 A).

Modular battery strings built for serviceability

Runtime is delivered by the matching M90-BC modular battery enclosure — a design many customers choose specifically for its serviceability and compact footprint. Battery is organized as up to eight independent strings, each with its own 100 A breaker, so an individual string can be isolated for service or replacement without taking down the others. Each string is built from four hot-swappable battery modules (up to 32 modules total), and the whole system fits a notably small footprint — an industry-leading footprint that saves up to 40% of floorspace versus comparable platforms, counting batteries and maintenance bypass.
