Power distribution

Rack PDUs

Rack PDUs get power from the UPS to the equipment. Choose a basic PDU for simple distribution, a surge PDU for added protection, or the SPDU switchable PDU to see the load at each outlet and reboot a hung device remotely.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a basic PDU and a smart PDU?
A basic PDU distributes power to outlets. A smart PDU adds metering and remote control, so you can see the load at each outlet and power-cycle a hung device without sending someone to the site.
Can I plug a PDU into a UPS?
Yes. The UPS feeds the PDU, and the PDU distributes protected power across the rack. The exception is an isolation transformer: sensitive equipment should plug directly into it, not through a PDU after it.
Is the SPDU TAA compliant?
Yes.
